The two sides head to Altrincham for the second leg next month, with the prize of a final against either The Tigers or Guildford Flames at stake.

A pulsating encounter at the Link Centre ended all-square, with both teams scoring during a dramatic final ten minutes of the third period.

Guildford Flames logo Marcus Kristoffersson had 3 goals in a wild back and forth affair that required overtime and penalties before Vladimir Kutny scored on the final shot of the opening round tiebreaker to secure a 6-5 win at Manchester Phoenix. Scoring was much more elusive 24 hours earlier on Spectrum ice. The Telford Tigers scored a pair of goals before the game was 5 minutes old and added a couple more in the ensuing periods to collect a 4-0 win.
