Team GB Logo Great Britain Women made it two wins from two matches as they beat Korea Women 3-1 in the World Championship at Dumfries Ice Bowl on Tuesday night.

Samantha Bolwell got the start in goal and made 17 saves from 18 shots, while Chrissy Newman scored twice in a player-of-the-match performance.

GB took the lead when Newman reacted first to a loose puck (5:12) as Korea were looking for a whistle.

Telford Tigers logo Tigers coach Tom Watkins is relishing the pressure-cooker atmosphere of this weekend’s English Premier League play-off finals in Coventry.

The county men make their debut at the Skydome following a season that has seen them collect both the EPL title and British Challenge Cup.

That success has given rise to a league-wide ‘anyone but Telford’ call, with gathered supporters widely expected to back the other three finalists.

Guildford Flames logo After an announcement early in the year that IMP would donate £5k to the team finishing 2nd in the English Premier League table, it has now been made official as Guildford are officially placed 2nd behind favourites Telford Tigers.

Managing Director of IMP Heath Rhodes commented ‘We would like congratulate Guildford Flames on winning the sum. We look forward to meeting the team and handing over the cheque’.

Telford Tigers logo Tom Watkins will prepare his title-winning side for a “do or die” weekend, as the club approaches its first-ever appearance at the EPL play-offs in Coventry.

The county men qualified for the final-four showdown after an 11-3 aggregate victory over Sheffield Steeldogs, taking them closer to a triple crown of major trophies.

They head into the tournament as favourites to clinch a further title, with confidence high after collecting both the EPL championship and British Challenge Cup.

Guildford Flames logo For the first time in their history as a league member, and after 9 consecutive EPL final 4 playoff appearances, the Flames will not compete at Coventry for the post season title after a 4-3, 2nd leg, playoff quarter final defeat at the hands of Milton Keynes Lightning in front of a sold out Spectrum crowd. The result closed out a 2 game aggregate goal series with Surrey’s side emerging on the short end of the 7-5 combined count.

Team GB Logo More seating has been released for Great Britain Men against Poland at the National Ice Centre on Thursday 9th April (7:30pm).

The majority of the lower part of the NIC bowl has been sold and so extra tickets have been released for blocks five to 16.

The game in Nottingham - and the one in Coventry's Skydome the following night - will help GB prepare for the World Championship in Netherlands next month.

Team GB Logo Great Britain Women began their World Championship campaign with a stunning 8-1 victory over New Zealand Women at the Dumfries Ice Bowl.
Katie Henry scored a hat-trick, Louise Adams netted twice and Nicole Jackson turned away 31 of the 32 shots she faced.

GB took the lead when Henry skated from left to right and fired past Grace Harrison at 1:36.

Having to face the hosting Peterborough Phantoms and from a goal behind from the previous evening, Swindon did all they can but to suffer a late goal for a final 2-1 game.
