Harding Returns On Two-Way

Swindon Wildcats logo Forward Adam Harding will spend another term with the Wildcats after a second successive two-way deal was agreed with the Cardiff Devils this week.

Coming just days after 18-year old Callum Buglass arrived at the club in an identical arrangement, the player said he was looking forwards to making his return and gaining regular ice-time during the new campaign.

"I'm glad to be back in Swindon for the upcoming season," the 21-year old said after the deal was confirmed.

Having made the 2013-14 playoffs with the Wildcats the player, who recorded 49 appearances in a 'Cats jersey alongside 16 for the Devils in the Elite League, he was certainly kept very busy throughout the last campaign however, the Welshman was keen to stress that his priority for the new season will be very much focussed on his Wiltshire based commitments.

"I agreed to come back on a two-way [with the Cardiff Devils] but Swindon is my priority this year," he continued.

"I enjoyed my time with the club last year and I'm looking forwards to being able to help the team out in every way I can again this season.

"I can't wait to get this new campaign underway.

"It's been long summer of training and getting ready and I'm very eager to get it started!"

Meanwhile, Cardiff Devils Director of Hockey Neil Francis added: "We are pleased to be able to contribute to another two-way arrangement with the Swindon Wildcats.

"Adam has been involved with the Devils for the past three seasons and has more than held his own when called upon at Elite League level.

"It is important that he continues his development and we will give him the opportunity to train on and off-ice with us here in Cardiff and he will gain valuable ice time with the Wildcats.

"At only 21-years old, this arrangement gives Adam the best chance of fulfilling his huge potential."

Indeed, having iced for the GB U18s as well as the U20s in recent years, the player will very much be looking to make the step up to the full GB side in the coming years and Wildcats Head Coach Ryan Aldridge is hoping that the club can play its part in Harding's future success.

"Adam did great for us last season and for the second time this week, I'm delighted that the Cardiff Devils have helped make a player signing possible," the coach said.

"It's a deal that benefits all parties involved, us, Cardiff and Adam and with the additional ice time we can offer him, it's down to him to continue to work hard and prove how good a player he is and if he keeps up his work rate and matches the effort the put in last year, there's no reason he can't have a big future ahead of him."
