Prospect Returns For Another Season

Swindon Wildcats logo The Swindon Wildcats are delighted to confirm that 18-year old Nottingham Panthers prospect Ollie Betteridge, will be returning to the club for the 2014-15 season.

The talented right wing has spent the previous two seasons gaining valuable ice time with the Wildcats while benefitting from training with the Elite League side during the week and has racked up almost 70 competitive EPL games for the Wildcats since joining the club midway through the 2012-13 season.

Photo by Nicky Pearce"It's great to have Ollie back again," head coach Ryan Aldridge said after the two-way deal with the Panthers was agreed.

"He played a big part on our team last year and his energy and determination is a big factor in deciding how our whole team plays.

"The line of Jan [Kostal], Ollie and Henri [Sandvik] was a great line and I am hoping to keep them together next season."

Indeed, the one-year extension means that Aldridge requires just one more piece of that line, with Kostal and Betteridge now signed up and the challenge of the new season is one that the player is very much looking forwards too.

"I'm extremely happy to be signing back with Swindon for another season," Betteridge said after signing the new two-way deal.

"Ever since I came to the club everyone has been great to me, and I've been treated really well.

"The club is heading in a good direction and I'm looking forward to getting started back in Swindon, next season is going to be an exciting time for everyone involved with the club.

"We can take things another step further and make it a very successful season and hopefully pick up some silverware along the way.

"The Wildcats are a great organisation and I think we will do even better next year. The way we started after our Christmas break - we were unstoppable.

"If we can keep a good core of the squad together and play the way we did, with consistency throughout the year we can easily bring the kind of performance needed to bring success to every game night."
