Slough Jets legend returns for a night of Mo19 celebrations

User Rating:  / 0

Slough Jets logo Former Slough Jets Player/Coach Steve Moria will be back at the Hangar for the Jets home game against Telford Tigers on Saturday March 15th.

The former Player and Coach who played three and a half seasons for the club and guided them to the 2008 Play-off win will be back to showcase his Mo19 leisure wear range. Steve retired from the game in 2012 and was honoured with a testimonial match in August 2012 leading up to which he launched the Mo19 brand. Since his testimonial demand has increased for the distinctive hockey and leisure wear range and many rinks in the country have supporters and skaters proudly showing off their Mo19 t-shirts, hoodies, hats and more.

There will be a selection of Mo19 leisure wear available to buy at the game and orders can be taken for any available merchandise item in any available size or colour. The Mo19 website will be launched soon making on line ordering available. You can also visit Steve's group on Facebook.

Steve came to the UK for an intended short stay first playing for Fife but went on to make Great Britain his come. He became quickly recognised as one of the top players of his generation and was soon in the Great Britain team. He played for the Jets between 2006 and 2009 scoring at 2+ points a game in every season as well as leading the Jets to a cup final and winning the play-offs in 2008. He was also the Slough Sports Personality of the Year in 2009.

Steve finished his career with rivals Basingstoke Bison but tonight returns to the Hangar and will be bringing with him a number of former Jets players. There will be a ceremonial puck drop before the game as well as the man himself presenting the man of the match awards.

We will be looking to take a photo as well with as many people as possible in Mo19 clothing items at the game. On that night we will welcome not only Jets and Tigers fans but hockey fans at the Hangar as the hockey community joins together to celebrate one of the generation's finest players.

As Mark Denholm explained; "Many people grew up hearing about Steeeeeeeeeeve Moria and for three and a half years we got to watch him every weekend as a Jet. As a Jet he was the consummate professional, a true athlete who performed at the very highest standard. He's given a lot to the game and continues to do so now with his leisure wear range. Off the ice Mo made many friends at Slough and I'm pleased he can come to Slough and show off his Mo19 leisure range as well as bring with him some notable former Jets"

Jets Director of Operations Steve English said; "We're honoured that Steve will be coming to Slough on his Mo19 leisure wear tour. We hope that not only fans from the two teams will turn out to support him but also hockey fans in general. Steve is still a huge part of the hockey community and we're looking forward to this exciting night."

Steve Moria added his thoughts; "I am looking forward to coming to The Hangar where I enjoyed playing for many seasons. I have met a lot of great people in Slough which I hope to see on the night. My aim is to develop the MO19 brand and see many hockey people throughout the UK (and worldwide) wearing the gear. I am hoping to have friends and ex-players attend the match on the 15th. It should be a fun night and I look forward to catching the Jets and my buddy Mindawg in action!"

Ticket prices start from just £6.50 and we're pleased to announce there will be a £1 discount on any ticket for supporters wearing an item from the Mo19 leisure wear range.
