Slough Jets logo Slough Jets Head Coach Craig Moran is pleased to announce his latest signing in the form of Croatian netminder Andrej Vasiljevi who has landed in the country today.

The 20 year old comes from KHL team Medvescak Zagreb where he has been learning from, training and playing with the Elite players of the world’s second best hockey league. He has also gained exposure with the club’s second team and is ready to take the step forward in the EPIHL as a starter.

His pedigree is second to none as along with positions at some of the best clubs in Croatia, Slovenia and Austria he has represented Croatia at both under 18 and under 20 level.

He has appeared for Medvescak Zagreb and Medvescak Zagreb II consistently since 2009/10, benefiting from the exposure to high level hockey from a young age. He’s also continued playing Under 20 hockey. Along with winning a bronze medal at the World Under 18 championships in 2009/10 and 2010/11 he was also recognised as Best Netminder at the 2010/11 championships as well.

Speaking on the signing Craig Moran commented; “He comes highly recommended to us as an outstanding prospect. He is a young goalie, fit and agile and highly skilled. I’m proud that we have managed to attract a goalie from the KHL to the Jets. He will have trained with some of the very best prospects, players currently in the NHL and players destined for the NHL and that will have helped to make him an excellent young netminder. He’s in the country now and we are rushing through his registration to try and get him registered to play this weekend.”

He continued; “Coming from a different league and country as with Kamil earlier in the season I expect he will take maybe a game of two to settle in but I can’t wait to see him in action for us and I am sure he will go a long way to helping us re-stabilise and get winning games again in partnership with Danny Milton.”

Andrej Vasiljevi stands at 6’0 and weights 181lbs. Previous clubs: Medvescak Zagreb, Medvescak Zagreb II, Team Zagreb
