Slough Jets logo After a weekend with no fixtures and the players enjoying a festive break the Slough Jets returned to training earlier this week ready to tackle the 2014 half of their 2013/14 schedule.

Following a highly disrupted last month of 2013 the rebuilding is continuing and the latest addition to the squad, Jamie Line, will make his return against the Telford Tigers on Saturday night with his registration complete.

The Jets weekend starts on home ice against the Telford Tigers who have made no secret of their newly affluent ambitions. Having lured Dan Scott and Dan Davies from the Hangar and Rick Plant from the Spectrum Tigers will debut their first mid-season signing but last to make the switch Joe Miller. These four players are well known to Jets fans and league fans and will no doubt make an impact in the Tigers effectiveness as they press for a play-off berth.

Recent import signings Andrius Kaminskas and Kamil Tvrdek will both be lining up alongside the two new British signings of Ryan Webb and Jamie Line combining with the nucleus of the team and other players keen to seize the opportunity to secure ther EPL place.

Assistant Coach Mindy Kieras will again be in charge for the weekend which sees the team follow their home game against Telford Tigers with a short trip along the A3 to take on the Guildford Flames.

The Flames are title chasing once again this season and are locked in a battle with Manchester Phoenix and current leaders Basingstoke Bison this season. The Flames have recorded a win in early season on the Jets ice but not as yet on their own, losing out 6-3 on their home ice. The same score and winners were recorded in early December at the Hangar giving the Jets a lead in the season series so far.
Starting netminder Danny Milton was the only Jets goalie to record a win over the Flames in 2012/13 but is yet to face them this season.

Mindy Kieras said; “It’s tough right now but we are getting better. We are fitting new players in to our systems and tactics and with no training at all together the new guys fitted in well against Milton Keynes before Christmas. We’ve now had chances for us all to train together and learn the systems so we are looking forward to the weekend’s challenges.”

Slough Jets Director of Operations moved to reassure everyone. "We are fully aware of the massive task ahead in signing replacements for the players who have left us ahead of the signing deadline but we are working as hard as possible to make those signings. I think we proved against Milton Keynes in our last game of 2013 that we have a great base to build from and that we have players who will give their all to not only compete in the game but to entertain the supporters as well."

Tickets for Saturday's match are available to book on-line until 3pm Saturday and will be available to buy in person from 5.30PM on the day of the game. Face-off is 6.30pm.
