Romford raids Peterborough

User Rating:  / 0

Romford Raiders coach Jesse Hammill has raided his previous club of three of their players, signing Peterborough trio Jason Buckman, Steven Maile and Tom Davis.

Jason Buckman, cousin of Phantoms captain Lewis Buckman, has had a long career in Peterborough having clocked up many years of ice time with the Pirates and the Phantoms as well as the ENL Islanders where Hammill was coach until last season. Buckman has also iced with Elite League Nottingham Panthers a few times in recent seasons as well as a stint at Chelmsford Chieftains.

Steven Maile is another long serving Peterborough player also having played for both the Pirates and Phantoms as well as Jesse Hammill's Islanders squad. Tom Davis started out in Chelmsford but Hammill signed him to his Islanders squad last season and now brings him along to Romford.

A Raiders spokesman said "We're close to announcing our last signings, including two more ITC holders and by then we'll be pretty much all set for the new season."
