Lightning to remember Cup win with commemorative banner raising (1 April 2017)

Milton Keynes Lightning logo Before the puck drops on Sunday to start our last ever EPL game in Milton Keynes, there'll be a special event - and we hope as many of our supporters will be there to see it as possible.

Photo supplied by Milton Keynes LightningThe event: we'll be raising a banner to the rafters of Planet Ice Arena to commemorate our victory in last month's English Premier League Cup Final, when three unanswered goals prompted sudden death overtime following Peterborough's win a week earlier. Five minutes overtime failed to separate the two sides so it went to penalties. And when Captain Carr stepped up, he slotted home the puck over Janis Auzins' left shoulder to raise the roof!

Our supporters have been superb all season, but their backing on 25 March when we finally lifted the one trophy that has long eluded us, was exceptional - they filled the Planet Ice Arena and made an absolutely electric atmosphere. So we hope as many of them will be with us again tomorrow to see the new banner raised in honour of that unforgettable evening!

Also to thank our fans for their support this season, the entire Cup winning roster will be signing autographs after Sunday's game. So if there's a piece of Lightning memorabilia that fans would like a particular player's signature on, the team will be in the skate hire area around 15 minutes after the game ends.

This week's final edition of our matchnight programme, the Lightning Review, has a photo of the entire team in the centre pages - so this Sunday will be an ideal opportunity to get players and management to sign it, for a fantastic souvenir of a memorable season!

The turnstiles open on Sunday afternoon at 4.45pm then we get underway at a family-friendly 5.30pm - tickets are on sale and as we get closer to match day, they have started to sell very quickly; we're expecting it to be busy at Planet Ice on Sunday, so booking in advance means supporters can just arrive, show their ticket barcode on a smartphone and breeze through the turnstiles!

Tickets can be reserved by calling the Planet Ice box office on 01908 540020, visiting in person or booking online:
