Bracknell Bees logo The Bracknell Bees are pleased to announce the re-signing of Tom Annetts who returns to partner Alex Mettam between the Bees pipes for the upcoming 2015/16 EPIHL season.

The 27 year old Reading born netminder started his career close to home with the Bracknell Drones and Hornets and made his Bracknell Bees debut in 2003/04 in the old British National League. A move just down the road to the Guildford Phoenix and Flames followed in 2004 where he remained for three seasons before a year with the Slough Jets in 2007. 2008 saw Annetts return to the Bees for a season before moving along the M3 to Basingstoke to play for the Bison for two full seasons before another return to The Hive and the Bees in 2011.

Now in his fifth straight season with the Bees he has firmly established himself as an integral member of the squad and has formed a solid partnership with Alex Mettam over two previous seasons, something that will continue this season. Averaging just under 90% save percentage over his last four seasons with the Bees he will be looking to continue the impressive work and continue his impressive double act with recently re-signed Alex Mettam.

Lukas Smital, Bees Player/Head Coach said on the return for Annetts:
“Tom is another key player who I am very happy to have secured the signing offor the forthcoming season. He has been with the Bees for a long time now and is a key part of the team who helps build a solid foundation for us build on going forward. He brings a lot of positive energy to the squad also. Although his games were limited last season to about one third of the matches he was always solid and would step in well when needed.”

Smital summed up the re-signing by saying:
“Tom has a great relationship and chemistry with our other netminder Alex Mettam, they help each other, support each other and both want each other to do well which to me is exactly what you want from a net-minding duo for the best outcome for the team.”

Ben Beeching, General Manager of the Bracknell Bees also added on the return of the net-minder: “Tom has a good understanding with Alex Mettam, and this level of partnership and competition with the netminders is a real positive for the club. Tom's a good guy to have around the club, and he's a safe and sturdy pair of hands that can win a game on his own on his night. He doesn't give a lot of net away and plays an important role on the club so I'm delighted to have him back for the forthcoming season.”
