Second netminder for Bison

User Rating:  / 0

Basingstoke Bison have completed their netminder line-up with the signing of ex-Bees backup Tom Annetts.

Reading-born Annetts is yet another of the growing list of ex-Bees players from last season to sign for rival teams. Having started his playing career in the Bracknell junior system, Tom moved onto Guildford in 2004 remaining there until moving to Slough Jets in 2007 and then returning to Bracknell after just one season, recording three shutouts in his time at the Bees.

Bison head coach Steve Moria, who coached Annetts during his stint at Slough, commented that Annetts played well during his time at the Jets and was even better last season, stepping up to starting netminder when Gregg Rockmann was injured. Steve will be joining fellow netminder Davey Lawrence, Moria commenting that "Tom will give us a great combination in net. Netminding is a critical position on the team and it is important to have two good goalies".
