The 25-year-old was born in Irvine, but grew up in Tadley and has played for every team from the under-10 Bison upwards to the senior Herd team.

A former Great Britain junior international played a few games for the Herd while they were in the Elite League, making his debut while still a member of the under-16 Bison.

He then moved to near neighbours Bracknell in the EPL and helped them to the league and play-off crown in his first season.

Another year with the Bees saw the side win the EPL Cup and he then went onto to collect more silverware with the Slough Jets as they won the play-off title twice in 2010 and 2012.

His last year at the Hangar, when Doug Sheppard was his player/coach there, proved to be his best so far in the EPL as he scored 21 times in a 50 points tally.

He then moved north to Scotland and spent a season with the Braehead Clan in the Elite League before suiting up for Slough and then Swindon.

Last season he started the campaign at Bracknell, before switching to the Herd and picked up 12 assists in 37 league games.

He is hungry as ever to start hitting the net and has set himself a personal target of scoring 20 goals this campaign, which he is more than capable of.

This is also the view of Bison player/coach Doug Sheppard and he said: "I feel I can get the best out of Ryan as a coach and he adds something different to the line-up. If he is not scoring you goals then his physicality will make things happen for other players. He has won silverware throughout his career so he knows what it is like to be a winner."

Watt is really pleased to back for a full season with the Bison and said: "I feel I can score 20 goals and that is my aim this season. I have won silverware in the past and it would be great to do it with my hometown team."

The 25-year-old is sure to add some more firepower to the line-up and last year linked up well with Tomas Karpov and in training has been playing alongside Aaron Connolly.

Watt said: "I don't mind on what line I play as there is a lot of talent on this team and I just can't wait for the season to start."
