Basingstoke Bison logo The Paul Baldwin Agencies Basingstoke Bison are delighted to announce the signing of young British forward Ralfs Circenis.

The player who will turn 18 before the start of the season looks an excellent prospect and will add even more firepower to the Herd offence.

He joins after impressing for the Solent Devils last season, where he scored 16 times in 28 games on his way to a 27 points haul in the league below the Bison.

Circenis scored many big goals during the campaign including the opening strike in his side's 6-5 on the Isle of Wight against the Wightlink Raiders.

Despite being born in Latvia, he is classed as a British forward in the EPL, having played for the junior teams in Solent, Basingstoke and Guildford.

He started his career with the Solent and Gosport Cruisers before joining the under-16 Bison in the summer of 2011 and then ending the year with the Guildford Firestars.

The following campaign he collected 80 points for the junior set-up in Guildford playing for the Firestars and under-18 Phoenix team.

The season of 2013/14 saw him finish second in the team scoring for the Phoenix with 21 goals in 16 games and he also made his Solent Devils debut netting twice in four games.

Last year, he became a full time member of the team as well as still turning out for the Guildford Phoenix and finished the year as one of the top five scorers for the Devils.

Bison boss Doug Sheppard said: "He is a hard working young player who never stops when he is out on the ice.

"He will be 18 by the time the season starts and I think he has a lot of potential. So I am really looking forward to working with him."
