Manchester Phoenix logo The Manchester Phoenix came from two goals down to claim a 3-2 win at the Bracknell Bees this evening to register their second successive away win.

Phoenix were missing both James Archer and Ben Russell, and took some time to adjust following the previous night’s game against Sheffield. Bracknell forward Ivan Antonov put the home side in front at 3:07 with a neat backhand, before Scott Spearing doubled the advantage on the Powerplay at 11:20. Spearing was then ejected as a result of a high sticking penalty but Phoenix were unable to capitalise on the five minute Powerplay.

Phoenix did get on the board early in the second period as Stanislav Gron was set up by Robin Kovar at 20:19. The remainder of the period was littered with penalties however neither team was able to take advantage as the score remained 2-1.

A spell of sustained pressure told in the third period as Gron fired home his second of the night through a crowd of players after being set up by Mark Thomas at 50:01. The comeback was complete when Kovar set up Martin Baranek on the Powerplay at 55:05, and Phoenix survived a late penalty of their own to claim the two points.

Phoenix are next in action at home on Sunday evening when they host the Guildford Flames in Deeside with a 6:30pm face-off.
