In the Semi-final, the Flames held the lead on 3 different occasions but a 5 goal collapse inside the final 10 minutes ensured a Playoff title defence would not succeed this season after an 8-3 defeat to Milton Keynes Lightning. A tricky start for the Flames had them 2 men down for nearly 90 seconds thanks to a pair of penalties less than 5 minutes after face off, but a strong penalty killing sequence held the game scoreless.

The Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning brought the curtain down on their English Premier League era in the best possible way – as Play-off champions after demolishing Telford Tigers 7-2 in a final at Coventry Skydome that was more one sided than any MK fan could have hoped for.

The Smith Recycling Milton Keynes Lightning are into the final of the Championship Play-offs after defeating Guilford Flames by a convincing 8-3 margin in the semi final at Coventry Skydome on Saturday.
It was sweet revenge for Lightning who lost out to Flames 6-2 in last year's final. Three goals in the space of about two and half third period minutes put Lightning in charge for the first time in a game in which they had trailed three times before fighting back.

Tigers coach Tom Watkins has told his men not to dwell on the 7-2 defeat to Milton Keynes Lighting in the EPL play-off final on Sunday.
Defeat at the Skydome Arena denied Telford their second double success in three years, after they won the EPL league title in March.
It brings the curtain down on an otherwise successful season for the side, following financial struggles earlier in the campaign.

Telford Tigers will play Milton Keynes in the EPL play-off final on Sunday after a 3-2 win over Basingstoke Bison in their semi-final at Coventry.
Saturday’s victory means Telford have a chance of securing their first-ever play-off trophy in the showpiece event at the Skydome Arena.
The Lightning beat Guildford Flames 7-3 in the opening semi-final encounter.
