Three major signings for Peterborough

User Rating:  / 0

Peterborough Phantoms have made what they describe as three major signings, having retained the services of Dwayne Newman and Callum Fowler along with the signing of Tom Carlon.

Newman, voted last seasons' best defenceman, will be starting his third season with the club. New head coach Doug Irwin says "every person you speak to refers to Dwayne as a true leader and player of immense character and we are delighted he will again bring that to the Phantoms".

Fowler will be returning for his second season at the Phantoms having originally plied his trade in Essex with ENL and junior teams at Chelmsford, Romford and Invicta Dynamos. Only 17, he's also iced for the GB Under 18's the last two years. Speaking of Fowler, Irwin says "I feel in Callum there is not only potential but a player who can and often will produce that unpredictable element".

Tom Carlon joins the Phantoms from Telford Tigers and brings a wealth of experience with him, having served three seasons with Elite League side Coventry Blaze as well as Bracknell Bees, but Carlon has spent most of his playing career in Telford. Over the years he has also played with Team GB juniors at several age levels. Coach Irwin says of Carlon "We are delighted to have Tom on board and I’m sure we have one of the most promising players in the league and one who will prosper from the move".
